Monstera deliciosa, meaning “delicious monster,” earns its name from its large, glossy leaves and the edible fruit it produces in the wild.
It’s part of the Monstera family and known for its dramatic, hole-filled leaves. These holes develop as the plant matures and help light reach lower foliage in its natural jungle habitat, where it grows as an epiphyte in tree crevices. Young plants may not yet show the signature notches, but these appear over time.
Monstera deliciosa is easy to care for, tolerates low light, and thrives with monthly liquid fertiliser in spring and summer to support strong, healthy growth.
Larger sizes come with a moss pole for support and are trained for extra-dense foliage.
